UCJCI Update January 23 2019

Wednesday Jan 23, 2019

Our dearly beloved, the late Rev. Royland Samuel Thompson, was laid to rest on January 17, 2019, at Meadowrest Memorial Gardens, St. Catherine.

The celebration and thanksgiving service for his life was one of fond remembrance, that captured the essence of a life well-lived…. A life of diligence and purpose, of caring and sharing; a husband to Rosemarie, father of Ronique, Ronaye, and Rodeen; brother, friend, and Minister, with such godly traits that endeared him to many persons.

We give thanks because there is much in life to be thankful for: Our family, friends, and grace and blessings sufficient for our daily living. Even if the past year had been difficult, we are still thankful for the loving comfort and warm support of those around us

UCJCI Update December 5, 2018

Thursday Dec 06, 2018

Once again, it’s Union Sunday. Once again, we light the Union Candle and briefly recall that between 1965 and 1992 three denominations covenanted to journey together as one.

We may also briefly recognise that our history did not begin in 1965, but that we have over 200 years of faithful witness to our Saviour, whose advent we now commemorate, and whose coming as God with us – Immanuel – signalled the single most important event in human history.
