42 Trustees, Officers and Executive Staff of CWM met in Grand Cayman 13th - 16th June 2006. Nearly all of the 31 member denominations were represented (notwithstanding some ealier difficulties we had with visas for some!), from all 6 Regions, Caribbean, Africa, South Asia, East Asia, Europe and the Pacific. All delegates stayed at the Marriott Beach Resort, where the business meetings were also held. On Wednesday evening 14th June, the UCJCI Cayman hosted the CWM contingent to a church service at the historic Elmslie Memorial United Church, where Hon. George McCarthy OBE, Chief Secretary, also brought greetings from the Government and people of the Cayman Islands. The service was followed by a sumptuous dinner in the Church hall, catered by Champion House II Restaurant. This included Cayman dishes such as stewed conch, enjoyed equally by our guests as well as those members of the Church present! Regrettably, the attendance from our members was not as good as hoped for, though we were not outnumbered by the guests. At the dinner, the guests were able to all be seated at tables with some Cayman members, so they could learn more about us. They each introduced themselves. Everyone could be seen enjoying themselves very well, guests as well as hosts - it was truly a time of good fellowship. Mr. McCarthy was heard to commend the singing and music, led in the main by Elmslie people, and this aspect of the service was also highlighted by the Trustees in their closing meeting on Friday, when they paid thanks to all in the Church in Cayman who had done so much to make them feel welcomed and to enhance their brief stay with us. We are indebted to the musicians (including those noted below as well as Mr. Dudley Robinson on steel pan) and the praise leaders (Mr. Dwight Williams, Ms. Cathy Gomez, Mrs. Harriet Vassell and Mrs. Carol Braggs) and the others who participated in the service or assisted with the dinner preparations. We are also especially indebted to the congregations which provided their buses for  transportation for the delegates, and to the drivers: Rev. Myers, Mr. Noel Wallace, Mr. Clarence Bothwell, Mr. Douse Dixon, Mr, John Macmillan and Mr. Mark Nelson, and to Mrs. Liz Scholefield who assisted with the welcoming when the largest contingent arrived on Tuesday afternoon. Thank yous were presented to Council through the DGS and a bouquet to Mrs. Andrea Bothwell who had assisted with the welcoming and their other needs from the time they started to arrive on the Monday, including some sightseeing for one or two. They also made special mention of the Wednesday night service and sermon and the devotions led each morning by Rev. Dr. Noble Bloomfield and Mrs. Kathy Jackson (musician), Rev. Joe Crawford and Mr. Mark Minott (musician) and Rev. Donovan Myers and Mr. Noel Wallace (musician), respectively. At the Wednesday morning devotions, Rev. Randolph Turner, Chairperson of Council officially welcomed them to Cayman on behalf of Council. Ms. Pilar Bush, Director of Tourism, and the Department's Staff had provided a lovely bag with some welcome material for each delegate, and we are very grateful for their participation in this way. Upon arrival each delegate was given one of these bags along with the book (and CD) "Destination Cayman Islands" and a copy of our local history Journey to Partnership as gifts from the Church to mark their visit with us.

From Grand Cayman, most of the CWM delegates then travelled to Ocho Rios, Jamaica, to join another 100 or so representatives from the 31 Denominations for the Assembly from 17th - 27th June. Mr. Leonard Ebanks served as a representative of the UCJCI, representing the Cayman Council, and Rev. Dr. Noble Bloomfield was one of the two Chaplains for the Assembly. During the first week, our Moderator, Rt. Rev. Dr. Roderick Hewitt was re-elected Moderator of CWM for another 3 year term.
